It’s the Hunger Games hunks! Alexander Ludwig, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth are out doing the talk show circuit as the clock starts ticking down to the release of their hotly anticipated film. The three stars were making an appearance on The Marilyn Denis Show in Toronto, Canada on Monday (March 19).
Josh plays Peeta in the screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins best-seller. He recently told MTV News that he felt an enormous connection the character. “I feel like so much of who I am is Peeta,” Josh said. “It drove me crazy during the audition process, because I was like, ‘This is so me, it hurts. If I don’t get this, I’m not even good at being me, so now what am I? I have no idea what to do next.'”
For his part, Liam was just happy to be a part of the phenomenon. “I’m a little overwhelmed. I’m very, very excited to be here,” he said on the red carpet at the film’s premiere. “I honestly don’t know if we did know what we were getting into. It wasn’t nearly as huge as it [was] when I signed on. It seems to be growing more and more, but I’m very fortunate to be a part of it.”
Alexander recently talked about the physical transformation he went through for his part in the film. “I had to put on 40 pounds for the role,” he said about becoming his character Cato. “I’m still trying to lose it. It sucks so much. I did fight training, sword training. I also worked with a US Navy Seal. I wanted Cato to have as much of a physical presence as a mental one.”
The Hunger Games opens this Friday (March 23) at midnight.
