One Direction Denies Nickelodeon Deal

So are they or aren’t they? No one seems to know for sure. While it looked like the ink was almost dry on their Nickelodeon show deal, One Direction is now denying they’ve signed off on anything, with Liam Payne pretty much denying the whole thing in a recent statement:

No, we’re not doing a Nickelodeon show. We’ve gotta concentrate on the music, and that’s what we’re going for.

And in an interview with MTV News, the boys seemed seemed to be in agreement. “We’ve just been doing stuff with Nickelodeon. They’ve been brilliant to us; they’ve been really good to us. There’s no sign of a TV show,” Niall Horan said. “We haven’t heard anything. We’re obviously doing the Kids’ Choice [Awards] and stuff, but there’s no deal been done or anything [for a show]. They’re just kind of helping us out, I suppose.”

That ‘help’ included putting the band – Liam, Niall and bandmates Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Harry Styles  – on Nick’s wildly popular iCarly. “We had a lot of fun doing that. They put us on an episode of iCarly as a guest appearance. First time we’ve ever done any acting, by the way, and if it comes out bad, we’re very sorry,” Niall laughed.

“But we think it’s going to be really fun — it was really fun to make. And all the cast, it was really easy to work with them. They made us feel really comfortable. After a couple of takes, it was quite easy. The fans really reacted to the iCarly thing.”

But as for their own series on Nickelodeon – I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
