Jennifer Lawrence is getting a big pay raise to be in Catching Fire. The actress – who plays Katniss Everdeen – reportedly was paid $500,000 for The Hunger Games.
According to The Hollywood Reporter Lawrence is in the final stages of negotiating a rich deal in the $10 million range. The figure is a combination of salary, bonuses and escalators. Depending on the box-office performance of the film, she could earn much more.
Her co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth are also renegotiating their contracts but won’t get paid as high as Jennifer. Catching Fire starts filming next month in Georgia.
And to think she almost didn’t take the part! She once confessed it took her three days to mull it over.
She explained, “It was just a huge decision that I didn’t feel could be made in a phone call. There’s not a lot of decisions that you make that will change your life forever. And it will never go back. I didn’t know if i was ready for my life to veer in this direction yet.”
