It’s true – Blake Lively married Ryan Reynolds over the weekend! Surprised? You weren’t alone – according to a source close to the couple, the wedding planning was carried out “like a top-secret military operation.”
An industry exec who knows both Blake and Ryan well reveals that the couple – who co-starred in the Green Lantern – went to great lengths to keep their nuptials under wraps. “This couple treasures their privacy with an intensity that is pretty strong — even compared to other privacy-starved stars in Hollywood,” the source said.
According to reports all the arrangements were done using pseudonyms and many of the people connected to the celebration weren’t told of the couple’s true identity, with some being asked to sign non-disclosure privacy forms.
The intimate ceremony took place at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, S.C., with Blake‘s friend Florence Welch – of Florence + The Machine – providing music for the festivities.
And in a little bit of a Hollywood twist, Us Weekly reported that the site of the marriage was featured in one of Blake’s favorite films – The Notebook starring Ryan Gosling, who Blake dated in late 2010 after splitting with Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley.
