Logan Lerman Can’t Wait to Direct

LA Premiere of "Source Code"

Fans of Logan Lerman from his Percy Jackson & the Olympians days can’t wait to see him in The Perks Of Being A Wallflower that opens this week. But they’ll be surprised to learn that the 20-year-old really only started acting because he wanted to be a director.

“The first movie that really grabbed me was Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. That is when I got passionate about filmmaking,” he told The Wall Street Journal. “I really wanted to get behind the camera. I got into acting at 12 to spent time on sets and to learn about the industry.”

But the young star is still enjoying his acting career, and was especially enthusiastic when asked what it was like working with his Perks co-star, Emma Watson. “Awesome! The script has some intense stuff going on, but the cast is young and had fun and became tight right away.”

So will we be seeing a Logan Lerman directed movie or screenplay in the theaters anytime soon? “I do a little bit of writing but my confidence in my writing has gotten away from me a little bit,” he said. “It’s really weird: I started acting as a hobby, and I’ve managed. Now it’s a profession.”

Logan Lerman is the next Tony Curtis. They look so much alike, and they are/were both Jewish.
