Nobody can say One Direction fans aren’t enthusiastic! Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne were mobbed as they performed in Rockefeller Plaza in New York City during an appearance on The Today Show on Tuesday (November 13).
But the boys kept their cool and took command of the stage, and reports are that they broke the “Today” show record with 15,000 fans in attendance. After performing lots of fan favorites, the band also announced that they’ll be releasing a 3D movie next year. “We are going to do our first-ever movie and it’s going to be in 3-D and it’s coming to cinemas near you on the 30th of August, 2013,” Niall told the crowd, to whip them up into even more of a frenzy.
After opening with ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ the group went into ‘Live While We’re Young’ and then ‘Little Things.’ Then the boys graciously thanked their New York fans for coming out to support the band in spite of the hardships in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
“I think for us it’s unbelievable to see the fans support,” Harry said. “I think in spite of everything that happened, our thoughts and prayers are with everyone that’s been affected by Hurricane Sandy and to see everyone come out still when everything’s happened is absolutely amazing. It means so much to us.View Slideshow »»
