Nick Cannon: Skate & Donate For ‘Toys For Tots’

Pastry Shoes Presents "Skate & Donate"

Nick Cannon strapped on his skates for a good cause on Saturday night (December 8 ) as he hosted the ‘Skate & Donate’ at Moonlight Rollerway in Glendale, Calif. The event – that was in support of Toys For Tots – was co-hosted by MTV stars and Pastry Shoes founders, Vanessa and Angela Simmons.

Among the celebrity guests (who all brought new, unwrapped toys to donate) were British singer Mz. Bratt, iCarly actress Victoria Strauss, indie teen pop duo Brandon & Savannah, Jessica Jarrell (Justin Bieber’s My World 2.0) and Alli Simpson (sister of Cody Simpson.) Celebrity Teen Scoop talked exclusively with Vanessa and Angela and a few of their guests about the event and what it meant to them.

Celebrity Teen Scoop: Why is Pastry Shoes’ ‘Skate & Donate’ event so important to you?
Vanessa: Giving back in general is so important; it is the easiest way for a person to contribute to society. I feel that, especially during the holiday times, it is so important to be able to spread that holiday cheer. Toys for Tots is definitely a no-brainer around this time, because we want to spread that holiday cheer to less fortunate youngsters. We just want to make sure that we can give back to them.

Angela: Absolutely, what Vanessa said is right. I think it is very important to give back, and with Toys for Tots, we couldn’t think of a better charity to partner with. We had a great success last year and we want to keep it up!

Mz Bratt: It is for such a great cause, as everyone is donating gifts for tots. It is also near Christmas time, so it is the perfect time to hold the event.

Jessica Jarrell: I always think it is important to give back, and this is a fun way to do it. It is such a great time! Attendees can really enjoy themselves and also do something good for society.

Victoria Strauss: Giving to people in need during the holidays is so important, because they would like something for Christmas and the season too. I am glad that Toys for Tots will help them have a smile on their face.

Brandon: The event is for such an awesome cause! We love Toys for Tots and always love giving to them. We are excited to be here, see friends, and have a good time.
Savannah: Same with me!

Alli Simpson: I am a Pastry girl, and I think it is so cool that Pastry Shoes put this event on to make sure that everyone has a great holiday. It is such a great cause. To me, it is important to help other kids and make sure everybody has just as good of a Christmas as everybody else.

CTS: What do you love so much about your Pastry Shoes?
Alli: I just think they are so much fun! The ones I am wearing now actually have a little wedge. Pastry Shoes is always coming out with new designs and it is cool because I get input on the new designs. The shoes are so fun and so comfortable…they’re great!

Mz Bratt: I love that there is such a wide variety of styles to choose from. There is a Pastry trainer for every different type of girl.

Jessica: I really love the variety of shoes that Pastry offers. My style is very eclectic, and Pastry offers a lot of shoes that go with many different looks. The shoes are so comfortable, and I love sneakers. I’m a sneaker head! [laughs]
