Roberto Aguire is on a roll – 2012 saw the up-and-coming actor getting to act in – and produce – Struck By Lightning, his feature film debut with Glee‘s Chris Colfer. Now it looks like 2013 will be just as exciting – Roberto has been tapped to star opposite one of his role models – Academy Award winner Robin Williams in the feature film Boulevard.

“I am extremely excited to start shooting Boulevard! I fell in love with the script as soon as I read it,” Roberto tells Celebrity Teen Scoop exclusively. “It’s about two individuals trying to come to terms with who they are as they struggle to escape the worlds that they’ve created for themselves. It’s a truly enchanting story.”

Roberto plays Leo, a young man who gets taken under the wing of Williams’ character. “Leo is a good hearted guy that is slowly being poisoned by his surroundings and he’s constantly self sabotaging any chances of being happy,” he says. “Nolan (Robin Williams’ character) is the first person to care about him and the concept is so foreign to Leo that his world is really thrown for a loop. He scares me and excites me at the same time, I can’t wait to play him.”

In an interview with Celebrity Teen Scoop last fall, Roberto talked about the person who inspired him to become an actor. “My acting role model is Robin Williams,” he said. “Growing up, I loved watching him in movies like Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji, Hook, etc.

“But I remember the day I saw Good Will Hunting was the day I decided I wanted to be able to do what he could do,” he continued. “I wanted to make people laugh hysterically just as much as I wanted to move people to tears, and in Robin I saw someone who could do both. The more movies of his I watched the more my fascination and admiration for him grew. For me he’ll always be one of the best.”
