John Green’s best selling novel ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ is a hit with teens, and now it’s been rumored that The Secret Life of the American Teenager‘s Shailene Woodley is up for the lead in the film adaptation of the book.
JustJaredJr. is reporting that the 21-year-old actress is being considered for the role of Hazel, a 16-year-old battling cancer who joins a support group and falls in love with a fellow cancer survivor.
Author Green isn’t naming names, but he did recently tweet, “Big news is forthcoming in re The Fault in Our Stars movie. THIS HAS BEEN A VERY EXCITING COUPLE OF DAYS.”
Shailene won kudos for her role as George Clooney’s teen daughter in The Descendants, and went on to win the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female and was nominated to the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture.
