You may recognize Jodelle Ferland from her roles in popular films like ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse‘ and ‘The Cabin in the Woods.’ The talented actress is back, starring as Megan Shepard in the heartwarming family drama ‘Midnight Stallion.’
Celebrity Teen Scoop recently caught up with Jodelle Ferland and asked her about her character Megan, the important messages in ‘Midnight Stallion,’ and the actors she’d most like to work with. Jodelle also shared her favorite memory of working on the ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ film!
CTS: Tell us about your role in Midnight Stallion. Are you anything like your character?
Jodelle: I actually am a lot like my character, Megan, in many ways. She is the type of person who is determined to finish whatever she sets her mind to, and I’m the same way. If I want to do something, I’ll find a way.
CTS: It sounds like a very inspirational movie. What, in your mind, are some of the important messages of this film?
Jodelle: I think one of the most important messages is don’t give up on your dreams. There are many points in the film where the characters had the chance to just give up, but they didn’t, and it paid off in the end.
CTS: Who are some of your favorite actors? Anyone you’d like to work with?
Jodelle: My favorite actor is Johnny Depp, I’d love to work with him. Emma Stone is another one of my favourites.
CTS: We loved you in ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.’ Do you have some favorite memories of working on the movie you can share?
Jodelle: I turned 15 during the filming, so I got to celebrate my birthday on set, which was so awesome. I had cake, they sang me happy birthday, and I didn’t even end up having to do any scenes that day. I pretty much just had a mini-birthday party on the Twilight set and then I got to go home!
CTS: Are you still in touch with the rest of the cast?
Jodelle: I do talk to a few of them still, mostly through things like Twitter. I also did a few Twilight conventions, which was really fun because I got to hang out with and get to know the people who I didn’t actually have any scenes with.
CTS: What do you like to do when you’re not on set? Any fun hobbies?
Jodelle: I love anything crafty or artsy. I love reading, drawing, painting, and learning new skills. I also like to cook and bake.
CTS: Any advice for young actors trying to break into the business?
Jodelle: First of all, make sure it’s really what you want to do. If you want to be an actor because you want to make tons of money and walk red carpets daily, you’re probably not doing it for the right reasons. It’s fun, but it’s hard work too. But it’s really something you’re willing to work at, then go for it. Every little thing helps, everyone has to start somewhere. Even the biggest stars often started out as background workers, so don’t get discouraged!
CTS: What’s up next for you?
Jodelle: Other than ‘Midnight Stallion,’ I’ve got a lot of projects that haven’t started filming yet, and I’m just waiting to hear on the dates. I’m really excited to get started so I can share them with everyone! I always make sure to keep everyone updated through my Twitter and Facebook pages so they can watch out for my new projects.
