Daniel Radcliffe Lands Role In ‘Tokyo Vice’

BAFTA - Arrivals

Daniel Radcliffe will be in the thriller Tokyo Vice. Deadline.com reports the actor will play American reporter Jake Adelstein who – while working at the Yomiuri Shinbun newspaper in Tokyo – covered the crime beat and locked horns with yakuza boss Tadamasa Goto, called the “John Gotti of Japan.”

The movie is based on the memoir written by the journalist who investigated and exposed the notorious gangster.

Radcliffe has steered away from Harry Potter-type roles.

He has starred in The Woman In Black, Kill Your Darlings, Horns and recently wrapped on the romantic comedy The F Word. He is also going to play Frankenstein.

The 23-year-old was recently at the Olivier Awards in London when he spoke about working in theatre and in film.

Radcliffe – who will be in the comic play The Cripple of Inishmaan in the West End – said,”From theatre I always feel I learn a lot, about stamina, about energy and those kinds of things, but film is very much my home. I’ve grown up on film set so I feel very comfortable there.”
