Justin Bieber impressed his fans in Turkey this week. According to E! News – the 19-year-old halted his concert in Istanbul twice to honor Muslim prayer. Known as the Azan or Adhan – the Islamic call to prayer occurs in the main mosque five times a day.
Delighted fans took to Twitter to thank Justin for being “respectful” and being a “great man.” On May 1 he posted a picture of himself and wrote: “Turkey what’s good”
Telling fans he was to fly to Dubai he later tweeted: “@Chrisck5 Turkey was huge. I need big lights for Dubai”
Just two weeks ago he had to cancel his concert in Muscat, Oman because Muslim leaders feared the “moral health” of their women would be compromised due to Justin’s good looks.
Hollywoodlife.com reports that after the cancellation – an aggressive anti-Bieber campaign formed.
A source said, “Many people here were horrified by what they had heard about Bieber. People didn’t want him coming to Oman. He was called a reprobate and words were used like debauchery and Haraam, which in Islam means a sinful act that displeases God.”
