Jenna Ushkowitz has found success as an actress, singer and dancer on Glee, one of TV’s most popular shows. Now she’s adding author to her resume, with the release of her memoir this week. Titled Choosing Glee, the book covers everything from Jenna’s adoption from South Korea to her role as Tina Cohen-Chang on the hit FOX series.
Jenna recently talked to Teen Vogue about her latest endeavor, and revealed why she decided to write a memoir. “I’d been wanting to eventually write a book, it was sort of like the next thing on my bucket list and the universe opened it arms and was like, here’s your chance” she said.
“There are some really cool books out there and I just feel like there’s not a lot of motivational ones that are relatable for teens,” the 27-year-old continued. “I wish when I was younger I had a book like this.”
Her Glee castmates were very supportive of Jenna‘s efforts. “I have these really cool pull quotes where I asked them all the same question and its their definition and answer,” she said. “There are quotes from Lea Michele, Kevin McHale, Harry Shum Jr., Becca Tobin, Vanessa Lengies, and Darren Criss, you name it.”
