Demi Lovato’s Biological Dad Dies

Demi Lovato tweeted a photo of herself on Friday (june 21) – posing with Paulina Rubino on The X Factor set. She wrote: “I (heart) my PAU PAU @paurubio!!! God this woman is FIERCE!!! #oldersis #xfactor”

However sad news for Demi on Saturday. Her biological father Patrick passed away. In response Rubio tweeted: “I lov u lil sis my prayers r w u guys! Te amo @ddlovato sorry for ur loss, i know what it feels Nothing we can say it’s enough…”

According to US Weekly – the Heart Attack’s singer’s older sister Dallas, 25, posted: “Rest in peace daddy I love you.”

Demi’s mom, Dianna De La Garza, also tweeted, “Thank you for the outpouring of love and prayers. Y’all are amazing!”

The 20-year-old has been estranged from her father for a few years. When she was in treatment in 2010 – he tried to reach out to her through the press but to no outcome.

Demi – whose song “For the Love of a Daughter” is about her dad – told the New York Daily News in 2009, “The last time I talked to him was two years ago. You try to have faith in somebody, even when you’re the last person that believes in him. But when somebody lets you down after you’ve been the only one there for them, and so many times, you don’t know what else to do. I had to cut off all connection. It was hurting me too much.”

It’s reported the the 53-year-old was battling cancer.

Demi had missed The X Factor photo shoot on Saturday. On Sunday Simon Cowell tweeted: “My thoughts are with you Demi” while the show’s host Mario Lopez said, “My thoughts & prayers are with you @ddlovato. God bless you & your family.”

The Skyscraper singer tweeted her thanks for all the support late Sunday night.

“I feel so humbled to have had so much support from my fans, friends, family and complete strangers,” she wrote. “God bless you all, thank you so much love.”
