Stars recently attended the Actors Fund Looking Ahead 10 Year Celebration, held at the Taglyan Cultural Complex in Los Angeles. Hosted by Fred Savage of The Wonder Years, the awards dinner celebrated The Actors Fund’s Looking Ahead Program, which helps young performers and their families address the entertainment industry’s unique issues.

The star-studded affair featured a delectable dinner, keynote speeches by Fred Savage and other Actors Fund committee members, and a performance by Goodnight Argent. Celebrity Teen Scoop was also in attendance and chatted with celebs like Joey King of Oz: The Great and Powerful, Thomas Kasp, and Kaitlyn Jenkins of Bunheads.

While working the red carpet, Celebrity Teen Scoop chatted with Joey King, who shared why she was looking forward to the event.

“I am really excited to be here, because I love the Looking Ahead program and their motto, ‘Grow, Give Back, and Have Fun,'” Joey shared. “I am also looking forward to seeing all my friends and partying!”

Joey also revealed her favorite part about being in Oz: The Great and Powerful.

“The best part about being in Oz was making new friends and getting to be a part of such a big thing; something that was bigger than me,” she said. “I had the best time working with the director Sam Raimi and James Franco, Michelle Williams, and Mila Kunis. All around, it was such a great experience.”

What is up next for the talented young actress?

“I have a movie called White House Down coming out, which stars Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx,” Joey revealed. “I also have a scary movie called The Conjuring coming out too, which will be very awesome.”

Also in attendance was Sabrina Carpenter, star of Disney’s new Boy Meets World spin-off, Girl Meets World. She chatted with Celebrity Teen Scoop about why she was ecstatic to be at the awards dinner.

“I am very excited because I heard this event helps young actors every day, as well as people behind the scenes,” Sabrina said. “I think that’s so awesome. I am also excited to watch the live music and see Fred Savage host the event.”

She also told us all about her new show, Girl Meets World.

Girl Meets World is the sequel to Boy Meets World, which is a very popluar nineties series created by Michael Jacobs,” Sabrina shared. “Boy Meets World was a great show that taught morals about growing up. This show has kind of the same theme, but it’s the girl version. It’s definitely very different from Boy Meets World. I play Maya, who is the best friend of Riley, the show’s main character and the daughter of Cory and Topanga. Girl Meets World is going to air on Disney Channel.”

Sabrina also shared valuable advice for aspiring young actors and actresses.

“First of all, many people will shut the door in your face. We’ve all definitely had that happen,” she admitted. “You have to keep going and don’t let anyone stop you if you really want to do it. Make sure you have all the support and family backing you up and you’ll be good to go.”

Sabrina’s Girl Meets World co-star, Rowen Blanchard, also stopped by and told Celebrity Teen Scoop all about her character on the show.

“I play Riley, who is the daughter of Corey and Topanga,” the actress shared. “The show basically centers around her dealing with middle school, boys, and her dad being her teacher. I originally wasn’t going to be cast because I was too young. They were going for a 13-year-old or 14-year-old, but they realized that if they were doing a coming of age show and she’s already of age, how is she coming of age? That’s what inspired them to cast someone a little younger.”

Rowen also shared what she loves about being on Girl Meets World.

“My favorite parts are all of the scenes with the parents, because I think there is a really strong bond,” she said.

Celebrity Teen Scoop also chatted with Teo Halm, who stars as Elliott Matthews in Girl Meets World. He told us all about his character on the show.

“Elliott Matthews is the class clown; he’s the big funny guy who likes working out. He’s your everyday teenage guy. You can also call him a prankster, because he loves joking around.”

Surviving Jack star Thomas Kasp was also in attendance at the celebration gala. He told Celebrity Teen Scoop why he was excited about the event.

“I am looking forward to hanging out with fellow actors and celebrating in the name of the Actors Fund,” Thomas shared.

He also revealed his plans for the summer!

“This summer, I am going to hang out and hopefully work on some cool things. Hopefully I’ll also shoot more episodes of Surviving Jack, which is a new show that just got picked up by Fox,” Thomas shared. “The show is about a dad, played by Christopher Meloni, who is raising his family in the nineties. It’s a hoot! My favorite part about being on the show is just being around Christoper Meloni. People know him from Law and Order: SVU and he’s a dramatic and intense guy, but he’s such a phenomenal actor that when he starts doing comedy, he’s hilarious.”

Thomas also shared his best advice for young people thinking of getting started in the acting industry.

“Don’t give up. It’s going to be hard at first, but just keep trying, keep your head up, and the longer you keep persevering, the more it will pay off,” the talented actor said. “The most important thing is to not psyche yourself out. Rehearse your slides, know you are going to do a great job, and just go into the room and have fun. The key to everything as an actor is to have fun and you’ll do your absolute best. ”

Goodnight Argent also stopped by on the red carpet and chatted with Celebrity Teen Scoop about why they were happy to be at the event.

“Honestly, we are so happy about the Actors Fund’s amazing cause. We are so thankful that we can be a part of it and support it. It’s the greatest thing in the world.”

Celebrity Teen Scoop also caught up with Maxim Night, star of TNT’s Falling Skies. The actor told us all about his show.

Falling Skies is all about aliens. The first season takes place six months after aliens invade the world and humans are trying to build resistance. The show is about humanity, family, and surviving and fighting the alien attack. My favorite part about being on the show is going on-location.We get to go to a lot of interesting places. We shot the second and third season in Vancouver, which was so cool. There were all these great vistas and greenery, and we also got to shoot in a mine. We never shoot in a studio; it’s always on-location.”

On the red carpet, Bunheads star Kaitlyn Jenkins also told Celebrity Teen Scoop what she looked forward to doing  at the event.

“Eating. [laughs] I am excited to socialize and network.”
