Cory Monteith‘s family, fans and costars are still dealing with the young actor’s untimely death, and as expected FOX just announced that they have delayed production on Glee, as well as moving back its fifth season premiere date.
In a statement released on Friday (July 19) the network said, “In light of the tragic passing of beloved Glee cast member Cory Monteith, the series’ executive producers, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Company have jointly decided to delay the start of production of Glee until early August.”
The statement also added that the premiere has been rescheduled to Sept. 26 from its original Sept. 19 date.
Cory played Finn Hudson on the hit show since its debut in 2009. The 31-year-old was found dead on July 13 in his hotel room at Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel, and an autopsy revealed that the Canadian actor died of a lethal mix of heroin and alcohol.
