Lily Collins and her co-stars Kevin Zegers, Jamie Campbell Bower, Robert Sheehan, Godfrey Gao promoted their movie The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones at San Diego’s Comic-Con on Friday (July 20). The book’s author Cassie Clare also attended.
Kevin shared a snapshot of him and Lily on the plane heading to the conference.
A reporter also posted a collage of photos of the stars on the red carpet. She wrote via Instagram: “Chatted with the fab cast of @mortalmovie at #sdcc today! @lilycollins @kevinzegers @jamiebower @godfreygao @cassieclare @robmsheehan”
Lily spoke to Yahoo News on her physical role.
“Doing stunts in a basic top that’s a dress and 5-inch, leather thigh-high boots, that’s not normal,” Collins said. “That’s not easy. I didn’t have any injuries, though. That was great.”
She added, “Running around in heels, being able to do all that and not injuring myself is kind of a boost of confidence. Every girl needs that experience.”
Meanwhile MTV reports Bower and Zeger said during the Q&A session that they are pleased with the final cut of the film.
“It looks amazing,” Bower said. “I’m super stoked to just share it with everybody.”
Zegers shared, “The great thing about the way that we shot [the movie] is that it was not so reliant on green screen. It’s not like we were in some room that had a bunch of green walls and we were pretending to do stuff — it was pretty practical. And it’s a character movie, so a lot of the way that it felt on set is what ends up on film. It was exactly what I expected it to be, which was really good.
“People get along when they’re filming things, generally they’re nice to each other, but this just felt a little more — we were sort of helping each other out as much as we could. I was very aware of how much work this was going to be for Lily [Collins] and for Jamie because they worked all the time. … We were an open book for each other.”
Bower added, “I’ve made the best friends on this set ever, and people that will stay in my life forever. That to me means more than anything, so I get quite emotional talking about because it did mean a lot to me.”View Slideshow »»
