Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev are definitely on good terms. Ian shared a photo of himself, Nina and Paul Wesley on Sunday (July 28) and wrote: “The trio-Stefan,Elena,Damon…”. Nina also re-tweeted the snapshot.

On Saturday Ian and Paul arrived at LAX after spending a week in Atlanta filming The Vampire Diaries. That same day Nina was being honored at the Variety Power of Youth event and partying with Selena Gomez. It’s assumed that Ian didn’t go to the bash with his ex-girlfriend – but for fans of the former couple it would have been nice.

Ian is keeping philosophical anyway. He posted a snapshot of himself holding the book Tuesdays With Morrie.

He said, “Such a beautiful story. Reminds one to live life everyday to its fullest capacity-your fullest capacity.A compassionate&full day, sounds like a damn good day, a damn good life to me.Even in face of hardship…Get on it people!”

All three actors spoke at Comic-Con recently. Wesley shared his excitement on the new season.

MTV reports he said, “I was very excited because I get to play two characters, so I get to go darker and do something completely different than what I’ve been doing for four years. I was a little concerned that the fans would sort of think, ‘Oh, we’ve already seen this before. Fortunately, it was such a positive reaction. Everybody was so excited.”

Ian had chimed in, “Because everybody was so bored with Stefan, because they’re ecstatic now.”

“The scenes are really cool because it’s such a different dynamic,” Somerhalder explained. “Before, it was just Damon and his brother, and now it’s this guy who can kick his ass and read his mind.”

The Vampire Diaries returns to the CW on October 10.
