The 19-year-old’s straight hair is the opposite of the curly mane she wears when she plays Carrie Bradshaw. In the September cover of Company magazine she says, “Carrie’s curly hair is such a huge part of the character. Having the curly hair wig helped me get into the Carrie vibe each time I got on set. It was fun for me, because I love curly I think it’s sexy…”
On music she admits she’s into Ed Sheeran.
“I love Ed Sheeran. I met him at the Country Music Awards a few months back and went bright red. I was so excited that I went up to him and said, ‘I’m such a huge fan!’. Everything he does is so beautiful.”
Robb also shared her admiration for some actors stating, “I just worked with Allison Janney and Toni Collette on the summer film ‘The Way, Way Back.’ They are just such amazing actresses and so natural. I was talking to Allison on the set about how much I love her acting. I think in order to have fun on screen and seem that effortless, you have to be confident in yourself. I learned that you need to have faith that you really get the role and trust your directors to be able to feel safe enough to try different things.”
Robb lives alone in New York City and admits it can get lonely.
She shares, “I moved there to film ‘The Carrie Diaries.’ When I was living on my own it was definitely lonely, it was the first time I lived away from home on my own. And that can be difficult for any young person – my friends who were going to university around that time, felt the same. You go from knowing the routine you have known your whole life and being around people you have known for ages, to meeting a whole new set of people and experiencing changes.”
On Austin Butler – she says he is funny saying, “He’s probably the sweetest person I have ever met. Every time we film a scene together, we crack up laughing. He is just so thoughtful and he’s such a wonderful human being! It’s a real pleasure to work with him – he’s very talented and we have a laugh every day.”
