Selena Gomez won the award for Best Pop Video for her hit ‘Come And Get It’ at Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards, but the singer/actress says she won’t be returning to the recording studio anytime soon. During a press conference last week for her latest film Getaway, Selena revealed that she’ll be concentrating solely on her acting career for awhile.
“I’m a woman so I change my mind all the time,” she said. “One day I want to do acting and just that, and then other times I just want to do music and just that, so it changes.”
“But this is my last record for a while. I’m going to tour it and then I’m going to just kind of get into acting for a really long period of time, hopefully.”

The 21-year-old says her edgy role in Spring Breakers helped her move away from her squeaky-clean Disney image and was the start of her metamorphosis into a serious actress.
“I’ve been wanting to do different things starting with Spring Breakers,” Selena said. “I wanted to do an action movie [like Getaway]…I got to dye my hair black, it just gave me an opportunity to kind of be someone else.”
