A bubbly Demi Lovato appeared on Live With Kelly and Michael on Tuesday (September 3) and talked about her recent trip to Africa, working on The X Factor and Glee. Kelly Ripa – who sported her new bob – said she looked like a “rock star”.
During the interview Demi said Kenya was a “life-changing” trip – having helped build a medical clinic for charity organization Free the Children.
According to Popcrush the 21-year-old said, “We got to experience so much. It was so much more than a vacation or a trip or something. It was the most life-changing experience I’ve ever had in my life. I remember thinking on my last day, ‘I don’t think I want to go back, I really don’t.’”

During her trip she got signed onto guest star on Glee. The moment she landed she went right to work.
“They started shooting two days after I got back,” Demi explained. “While I was in Africa, contracts were signed and deals were done, and then I land and I go straight to work. It was awesome!”
Talking about Simon Cowell she revealed, “I’ve seen him cry before. He got teary-eyed last year and I think this year as well, but you never know what’s going to make the show. He has control in the editing, so most likely you’re probably not even going to see it if he did cry.”
