Lily Collins has just been announced as the latest global ambassador for the beauty line Lancôme! Starting in January, the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones actress will appear in ads promoting the brand’s French Ballerine makeup collection. Lily is in good company – previous ambassadors include Emma Watson, Julia Roberts and Kate Winslet.
Lancôme tweeted out a welcome and congratulations to the 24-year-old actress. “With her charm, gracefulness, modernity and lively wit, @LilyCollins is the perfect embodiment of femininity #LilyforLancome. @LilyCollins is a talented actress and embodies #Lancome’s effortlessly chic look and joie de vivre #LilyforLancome”
With this high-profile gig, the actress – who is the daughter or music icon Phil Collins – will have to get used to being in the spotlight even more, although she has talked about being uncomfortable with attention from paparazzi.
“I had the experience with Kristen [Stewart] where there were paparazzi waiting outside a restaurant and we were followed afterwards, and I do think it’s such a crazy job to follow someone in order to get a picture,” Lily told Glamour UK this past summer “I get how much pictures are worth, but that is just so bizarre to me.
“I had something similar when I went to the doctor’s once,” she continued. “At that point I had only done two or three movies, but there were 15 people surrounding my car and I was freaking out. I found myself getting so stressed out that I had to force myself to put my seat belt on, because all I wanted to do was get out of there.”
