Austin Mahone‘s fans are concerned after the singer came down with a serious illness and had to cancel his MTV Artist to Watch Tour, but they’ll be relieved to know he’s looking to the future and excited about his upcoming debut album. Austin talked to MTV News about what he’ll be delivering to his Mahomies.
“They can expect a lot of things, like they can expect more songs like ‘Say You’re Just a Friend.’ They can expect a lot more songs like my current single ‘What About Love,'” Austin said.
The 17-year-old didn’t mention a release date for the album, but he did hint that the new tunes might have a slower vibe. “There’s some really cool ballads, maybe a couple really good collaborations,” he teased. “You just got to wait and see for yourself and get it when it comes out.”
Last week Austin was rushed to the hospital with a 104 temperature and later diagnosed with a blood clot, inflammation and severe dehydration. His mom Michele Mahone later tweeted to his fans about having to cancel his tour.
“Austin is very upset about this & we want to say we are sorry to all the Mahomies & their parents who have made arrangements to come out,” she said. “We feel very bad but we have no choice but to POSTPONE the tour for now. Thank you for your prayers
