Disney star Olivia Holt is part of the 10th Annual St. Jude Thanks and Giving Campaign this holiday season. The 16-year-old I Didn’t Do It actress – as well as Jennifer Aniston, Robin Williams, Sofia Vergara, Shaun White, Michael Strahan, Luis Fonsi and Marlo Thomas have lent their time and support this year to help and ask consumers to donate while they shop this holiday season and join St. Jude in finding cures and saving children.
Holt created and designed a special Heart of St. Jude t-shirt – now available on giftshop.stjude.org. Sizes are in youth and toddler. One hundred percent of profits go back to the hospital. Sabrina Soto and Jennette McCurdy are also participating. Celebrity Teen Scoop recently caught up with Olivia to find out more about the campaign, her series, and her holiday plans.
CTS: You will be featured in the 10th annual St. Jude Thanks and Giving Campaign this holiday season. What is the campaign all about? What inspired you to get involved?
OH: The St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign is an unprecedented union of celebrities, media, retail and corporate partners that asks consumers to donate during the holiday season and join St. Jude in finding cures and saving children.
Funds raised during this unique, national campaign support the lifesaving work being done at St. Jude, which provides hope for children fighting cancer and other deadly diseases and where no family ever pays St. Jude for anything.
CTS: For the campaign, you also designed the “Heart of St. Jude” t-shirt. Could you tell us about it? How did you come up with the design?
OH: I loved the idea of designing something that would be a meaningful gift to give and receive during the holiday season, with proceeds benefiting the kids of St. Jude. When I think of St. Jude, I think of having a big heart, so the shirt has two large hearts on it. The fun and colorful design reminds me of the hope and joy of the St. Jude kids I’ve met.
100 percent of the proceeds, after all related expenses, benefit the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

CTS: Jennifer Aniston, Robin Williams, Sofia Vergara, Jennette McCurdy, and Shaun White are also involved with the campaign. Have you had a chance to meet them?
OH: Unfortunately no. I now have the opportunity though, and couldn’t be any more grateful for this team.
CTS: What are other ways that you give back during the holidays?
OH: Previous years I’ve helped in food kitchens, giving warm meals to the homeless. I’ve gone to hospitals to visit children and this year I’ll take every opportunity to do all of that again and more.
CTS: What do you plan to do this holiday season? Do you have any special holiday traditions? What are you thankful for this year?
OH: My family and I put on Christmas music and decorate the tree. We also bake lots of treats and watch movies. And this year I’m truly thankful for every opportunity I’ve been given. It was a great year full of lots of exciting and memorable things that I’ll forever be grateful for.
CTS: You are set to star in the new Disney Channel series, I Didn’t Do It. Could you tell us about the series and your role?
OH: This show is definitely something to look out for. It”s so relatable and has this uniqueness to it, the ending of the show starts at the beginning and the rest is a flashback. And the show is revolved around these five friends who are making their way through highschool and getting themselves in stuck in situations that they wish they didn’t get themselves into. My character, Lindy, is kind of the glue that holds the friendship together. She adores her friends and has a very passionate heart.
CTS: Do you still keep in touch with all of your former Kickin’ It co-stars? What are some of your fondest memories of the show?
OH: I sure do. Their still like my family and they still work on the same studio lot as I do so I get to see them pretty often. I grew up with those guys so every memory I have is a memory of friendship and learning so many different things, whether it was being up in the writers room and watching how they work or when they guys taught me how to play video games and shoot free throws on the basketball court.
CTS: What do you like doing in your downtime with family and friends?
OH: I’m always down to do anything in my free time. I’m a huge rollercoaster fanatic so I love going to theme parks. My friends and I love shopping and watching movies. I love to be outside and explore so hiking is something fun that I love to do as well.
CTS: What else is up next for you?
OH: Really excited to share my music with everyone. I’ve been working on that quite a bit and I can’t wait for everyone to hear!!
