Ashley Tisdale suffered a sad loss a few months ago when her beloved grandfather passed away. But the High School Musical star says the experience inspired her to write and record new music for the first time since 2009. The result was a song, ‘You’re Always Here’ that she dedicated to her grandfather.
“I was inspired to kind of just start writing to help me heal,” Ashley told Ryan Seacrest, adding that the tune was a collaboration with fiancé Christopher French. “Chris sat down and produced, and we wrote this song together.”
The actress/singer gushed about her husband-to-be, saying she knew from the start he was ‘the one.’ “I’ve obviously been in long relationships in the past,” Ashley said. “But I think because of knowing what I wanted, I wouldn’t have gone into a relationship if it wasn’t what I wanted.
“I think from the moment that him and I met, I just knew it. I was like, ‘Ok this is the guy,’ and he knew the same thing. It doesn’t get any better. I just can’t explain it.”
Christopher popped the question on the 103rd floor of the Empire State Building in NYC in August of this year. “It’s all natural between us,” Ashley continued. “With other relationships you’re just kind of trying too much to make it work.”
